I’m so excited about The Know It Owl Series. I have visited zoos, aquariums, and animal conservations places all over the world. I love to see animals in person, and I love to see the joy on children’s faces when they see them, too. As a former teacher, I want children to learn the correct facts about these animals, as well as have fun doing it.
I have collarborated with an amazing illustrator, Paula Piechna, to bring my stories to life. There are many interactive elements in each book such as ‘Spot the hidden animals’, food maze, and ‘Draw with me’. I include where the animal is on the IUCN endangered list.
Each book also has a Dear Reader letter, a link to my blog about each book, and lesson plans for schools to utilize these books in their classrooms. I have created an engaging and interactive author visit for schools.
I am looking for a traditional publisher to help me continue to bring these animal stories to life and to help children learn compassion for animals from a young age.
